Good evening!

Catholic Schools Week is off to a great start.

The children are excited to be receiving the Sacrament of Penance on Saturday.  Please look out for the email I forward to you from Sister Marie.  It outlines important information for Saturday.  I look forward to celebrating this special day with the children and you.

See you then!

Greetings!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!

How nice to take time to be thankful and show appreciation for all that God has blessed us with.

...so quickly time flies....

We are upon the season of Advent and we must prepare for the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The children received a copy of the St. Andrew Christmas Novena to take home last week. The Novena began on November 30th and continues till Christmas Day.  The prayer should be said at least 15 times a day with one special intention prayed for throughout the month leading up to Christmas.  It is a powerful Novena and the children were all excited to begin praying.   We will pray this prayer 15 times each school day; hopefully the children are able to find time for prayer during non-school days.

I pray that you have a blessed Advent.

Good evening!

Autumn is quickly fading away to winter.... brrr it's cold out there!

I just wanted to remind you all that the 2nd parent meeting for Reconcilitation will be on Saturday.  If you were not able to make last evening's meeting, please make sure you mark your calendar for Saturday!

Greetings!

I wanted to remind you that tomorrow is picture day.  If you haven’t already done so, send in the picture paper with your order information tomorrow morning.  All students are to be in full, neat, clean uniform.  The photos taken tomorrow are the individual photos.  The whole class photo will be another day; Sister Kathleen will advise you of that date.

Also, make sure that you watch for Sister Kathleen’s email regarding Parent/Teacher conference sign up.

Stay warm..... there is a chilly forecast for this evening!

Thank you to all those parents, grandparents who came out in support of our Walk-a-thon today.  We only got sprinkled on! Most importantly, we had a fun time.  I'm super proud of my 2nd graders for their behavior and participation.

Greetings!

Just a few days till the start of the school year!  I am looking forward to meeting all of my new students and starting out on this wonderful adventure!  Second Grade is an exciting year... so many wonderful things happen!

I am excited to have Ms. Galante working with me this year.  She is a wonderful young woman who is eager to be working at St. Denis-St. Columba School and assisting in 2nd Grade.  We are blessed to have her with us.

I look forward to meeting you at Back To School Night, Thursday.

Good morning, Parents!

WE ARE IN NEED OF TISSUES....... allergy season is in full swing and we are almost out of tissues..... The children would appreciate donations!

I hope that you are well and enjoying the new life Jesus, and the spring season, has blessed us with.
I know that you received the communication from our Room Parents.  I thank both Mrs. Woods and Mrs. Zingaro for their undying efforts for our class.  We are in the home stretch, ladies!
Everything happens for a reason, so I trust that there is a reason for the date switch for our mass; we will make the best of it!
All second grade students  dress for this mass.  Please come to school at 8:00 a.m. in your communion clothing.  If you did not receive communion with us, you will still come to school at 8:00 a.m.dressed for the mass. If you are a girl who did not receive communion but are still participating in our mass, you may wear a white or spring dress.  If you are a boy who did not receive communion but are still participating in our mass, you may wear a suit or dress pants and a shirt and tie.
At the close of the breakfast/brunch you must assist your child as they change into their uniform.  You will then be asked to bring the dress up clothing home.  This is the best way to insure that your thoughtfully purchased clothing stays in pristine condition.  If you are not able to be with us on June 4th and your child is in school, please make arrangements with a parent that you trust to take responsibility for changing your child and taking the clothing home with them.
All First Communion students are going to the Sacrament of Reconciliation this afternoon so that they will be ready to receive Jesus in the Eucharist on Saturday!
They are all quite excited for this special event!
Thursday is our practice for all students receiving First Holy Eucharist on Saturday at St. Columba School.  Please have your child in the church by 4:30 on Thursday. Practice is about an hour.  You can stay in the back or you can return back at 5:30.
Saturday, all students receiving First Holy Eucharist at St. Columba, must be in the Gymnasium by 8:45 a.m.  The mass begins at 9:30.  Parents, please do not just drop your child at the door, please bring your child to the school gym and take their certificate with you.
I think this covers the important information; If I've left anything out, I will send an update.
I look forward to these special events!
God be with you,

Mrs. Senno

Looking ahead.....

There will be a new reading log form after Easter break.... we are switching up the starting sentences.  When I have it available, after Easter,  I will post it on the Printable link.  I will also have a schedule posted with due dates. To reiterate; there is a new Reading Response Log form - The old form will not be accepted during the last quarter.

Happy, Happy Easter to you and your families.
