A Record of Academic Success
For over 50 years, St. Denis-St. Columba School has built a solid reputation of providing superior academics. Though there are many, we offer a few examples of our academic success:

Over the last eleven years, our 8th Grade Students have won first place seven times at the Academic Olympics competition hosted by Our Lady of Lourdes High School -- the most of any competing school!  Up to ten Hudson Valley Catholic Schools compete annually at the Academic Olympics. In 2016, SDSC continued our record of success by placing Third Overall.

A team of students in Grades 6-8 participate annually in an ITV News and Views competition. In 2015, the SDSC team won first place awards in four categories, including First Place Overall!  Agin in 2016, our team won First Place Overall in addition to first place in Research, Photo Essay and Anchors.  Additionally, our teacher moderators, Mrs. Forlenza and Mrs. Waters were awarded "Moderators of the Year." Our students competed against more than 400 students from fifteen elementary schools and seven high schools throughout the Archdiocese of New York.

Each year, SDSC graduating students who chose to attend Catholic high schools are awarded scholarships.  In 2015, a total of thirteen full and partial academic scholarships were awarded to our graduates from Our Lady of Lourdes, John F. Kennedy Catholic, The Ursuline School, and Iona Preparatory School.
